Phil Jonckheer
Chair

Phil is a Managing Director and CFO for Equius Partners, a financial advisory firm that focuses on Asset Class Investment. He earned his B.A. from Harvard University, and his M.B.A. in Finance and a Masters in Administration and Policy Analysis from Stanford University. Phil’s career path prominently highlights his strength in understanding financial economics, and his passion for studying the ways in which human behavior affects wealth. Phil is the father of three children and a master swimmer. He has been an integral part of Alchemia’s Board of Directors for over 20 years, and we are honored by his dedication and passionate support.

Ian Smith
Treasurer

Ian is a certified Emyth Business Coach, and an experienced executive who has spent more than 25 years in financial leadership roles with a number of public companies. He continues to provide coaching services to small and large business clients in the US and Europe, helping them to improve systems and operations.  A native of Liverpool, England, Ian studied Chemistry at Reading University in England before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant.

Gail Yeager
Secretary

Gail is a retired education professional, special education advocate, and strong supporter of the arts. Gail's daughter, Julie, has the distinction of being the first Sonoma County student with Down Syndrome to be fully included throughout her public education.

Michael Cheney
Board Member

Michael is a visual, performing, and literary artist who has received arts mentoring from Alchemia since 2005.  He provides critical perspective on programming and curriculum enhancement. Michael’s literary work has appeared in several anthologies and magazines, including WE magazine, and his visual art has been displayed in galleries and community venues throughout Marin and Sonoma Counties. Michael is the subject of "Put Down My Sword, Pick Up My Paintbrush," a short film that premiered at the Sonoma Independent Film Festival in 2018.

Emily Parker
Board Member

Emily holds a B.A. in Liberal Studies from Sonoma State University and an M.A. in Special Education from San Francisco State University. An experienced educator, Emily has worked in childcare and education since 1998 in both general and in special education settings. Emily believes strongly in the philosophy of inclusion and has a gift for individualizing instruction in such a way that students utilize their strengths to make progress in challenge areas. She is part of the LEAP program at Lattice Educational Services as an inclusion specialist/special education teacher. In 2018, Emily founded Inclusion Festival, an annual all-ages, sensory friendly music festival celebrating people with disabilities, their friends, families, and allies.
